Darband Police Station, designed by Heinrich, was among the buildings destroyed during the recent attacks. Like several of the architect's other works, the building incorporated decorative elements inspired by Achaemenid art and architecture.Historical photographs reveal features such as bull capitals, reliefs depicting the battle between the lion and the bull, Achaemenid guards, lions, and the Faravahar motif.Images documented during the Darbband Neighborhood Walk program also indicate that the building had undergone inappropriate alterations prior to its destruction.Documenting and revisiting such buildings remains essential to preserving the architectural memory of the city.
